Beware! Of "Dream Develop" contractor!

This is a bit different from my usual posts, but I think it's very worthy of making everyone in the San Diego area aware of. John is a contractor who we hired to do work for us months ago. He owns a "company" called Dream Develop". No website, nothing listed with the BBB. Only an email address: dreamdevelop@yahoo.com.

John, a well spoken man in his mid-thirties, drives up with a new Range-Rover to do estimates. He shows you photos, on his cell phone, of all the jobs he has done in his 17 years in business.

We gave him a list of all the projects we wanted done and in a couple of days he gave us a price, based on our priority list. He said he was on a project and we would be next. So, in 2 weeks our work started, doesn't sound bad so far, right? Jose showed up to do our wood floors on the first day with his pickup filled with wood. He starts laying down boards and after about 2-3 rows we stopped him because they didn't bring the flooring we ordered. Oh no, now the issues start. He calls John, they talk in Spanish, and the boards get pulled up and off Jose goes with the flooring!

John calls and tells us that he has to reorder the wood and a couple of more weeks go by.
Finally, the floors and trim are finished downstairs.
Next the painters show up. They paint all day and leave. Plastic still on the lamps, places not painted and we don't know if they are finished or not!

Next the plaster guy comes after the painters to patch holes in the walls. I know, that doesn't make any sense to me either!
Then the painters are scheduled to come back but never show up. I wait home all day!
I think you get the point.

Jose comes back but can't get through the guard station at our community because he doesn't have a license to drive, so no ID to get in. How does he drive to work each day? He comes with his wife and father-in-law. They clean up and carry wood to him when he needs it. He drives a pickup truck on the highway everyday! NO License? No Insurance? Who does that?

I won't make you read anymore but I will post the pictures of the their work!

Warning! This will get ugly!

We are still waiting for John the contractor to finish the trim in our house! It's only about an hours work!

This is finished work after the painters left...

This it the patch job the floor guy did with the trim!

After waiting a month, Jose shows up to do the wood floors upstairs. He didn't do the trim, you can see why! He left about 3 weeks ago and we have called John and text John and he will not return our calls. Upstairs is still not trimmed! Downstairs trim still missing at doorways.

John the contractor with 17 years of experience and his gang of workers are a scam!
Make sure you don't use him!

Painters left and didn't say they are finished! Holes in the walls are just get painted over. Plastic on the light still on.

Chips and cracks just painted over. We marked all the locations that were not fixed correctly with blue tape. The house was covered in blue tape!

Floor guy fills mis-aligned trim with white corking.

Spaces are filled to cover up mistakes. MESS!

Playoff Game!

Well, it's the first playoff game this season and the first time, in years, that there even is a playoff game. Needless to say, they made it so far but lost the game. It was a very exciting game and season for the Patriots and I was glad to photograph their full varsity season.

Halloween 2014

Each year there seems to be more and more people converting their "home sweet home" into a house of horror! This is one example from our friend "Starbucks" Brandon's house!
